Umi no Sakeya 海の酒屋

Restaurant Branding

Umi no Sakye is a personal project crafted with my family in mind. Inspired by my father's lifelong aspiration to establish a Japanese Izakaya restaurant, this endeavor not only realizes his dream but also offers me a rich opportunity to gain hands-on experience in client-oriented design. An Izakaya embodies an informal Japanese gastropub ambiance, inviting patrons to indulge in an array of small plates and beverages within a laid-back, communal atmosphere.

Brand Identity

The branding essence of this restaurant revolves around reinterpreting traditional Japanese elements through a contemporary lens. The logo employs a traditional Japanese font texture to evoke a sense of heritage, while the predominant dark blue color scheme infuses a modern aesthetic.






Digital Component

As part of the project extension, I also crafted both digital and physical elements for the restaurant. The website boasts a minimalistic design and user-friendly navigation, conveying a modern dining experience. Abundant imagery on the website provides customers with a clearer understanding of the restaurant's ambiance and offerings.

Physical Component

Like its digital counterpart, the physical aspect of the restaurant is characterized by simplicity. However, the menu diverges from the typical format of a restaurant menu by opening horizontally like a traditional letter, offering a unique touch.
